Picked up some lovely plants yesterday. We got a very nice Boston fern to hang outside. It looks good with our two wind chimes, hummingbird feeder and our other plant called a fuchsia.

Yesterday, I saw a hummingbird near the fuchsia and then head towards the feeder. That the first time I've seen one since I put out the feeder, second time in total. But that's not all we saw. Out front on our suet holder, which has a sunflower seed suet inside, we saw not once but twice a Baltimore Oriole. I even managed to catch a few pictures of it. When we were coming home from the grocery store we say another Oriole flying off. They might have been the same one but I'm not sure.

Mom had the day off and we went to Topeka do some some research at the research library. We hadn't been in more then a year for one reason or another. Would have liked to have left early then we did because of a headache. We ran into some rain as we were leaving for Topeka. I am not sure of how much we got, forgot to look at the rain gauge. Don't think it was much though.

Will buy some plants tomorrow and I think also get groceries.

Had a nice little rain storm today. Dumped about an inch of rain on us and there were tornados in the area. Typical spring weather in the midwest.

Not sure what we will do this weekend.

Well it took us a little longer then we planned and we didn't get as much as we wanted to, but we did get some much needed yard work done. When we were out yesterday, I bought a few more flower bulbs. I know where all the bulbs are to be planted.

Got about an eighth of an inch of rain over night. I think some parts of the area got hit with some worse weather then what we got. I will admit that I am happy that we got some rain lately. First we do need it, secondly it helps everything and everything is greening up now. It really looks nice out.

Tried to get the mower started and couldn't. I don't know whats wrong with it. Really don't want to spend the money to get a new one, but before I go out and get a new one I want to try one last thing.

Need to plant bulbs this week and also do some house work. So it will be a busy week.

Got three quarters of an inch of rain yesterday. Because of the amount of rain lately, we will be going to the laundromat for the second week in a row. Hopefully, we don't have to go every week or even every other week. Maybe sometime this coming week or so I can get some stuff done at home.

Have been having strange dreams, depression and some low energy lately.

Will do the laundry and a couple other things Saturday and on Sunday we will do some yard work. At some point I need to plant some more flower bulbs.

Late Monday and early today we got some rain and even a bit of hail. Rain total was three quarters of an inch. So laundry is out, for at least today.

Have a few things to do this week and really don't feel like doing any of it.

From Thursday afternoon until sometime early this morning we got almost one and a quarter inches of rain. Most of the rain came in waves and we did get a heavy downpour early this morning. We need it and the flowers do too.

Thankfully I am mostly over the cold I had last week. Still have a slight persistent cough, but that is it. My allergies are taking over now.

Due to the rain and Mom being slightly backed up on laundry, we are going to the laundromat tomorrow. I was able to get a couple loads of my own things done earlier in the week, so I am not too backed up. Will get a load of sheets done though and maybe some clothes in one big load.

After we get through with the laundromat we will come home and rest. Then we will go to the Pet Expo we found out about a couple days ago, have lunch out and then get groceries before heading back home. Think we have another errand or two to do while we are out.

Sunday Mom is going to paint the bathroom. We got some nice paint at the local hardware store. The walls are going to be a pale pink and the ceiling will be a nice white. Since the room has no windows, we don't want a dark color in there.

I painted the hallways a light yellow last week. Hopefully this will be the last of the painting for a while.

Both Mom and I have colds. Usually one gets it and gives it to the other, but not this time. So it will be a miserable weekend.

The total for the rain this week is one and a quarter inches of rain. The flowers that have bloomed look wonderful and the there are more ready to pop.

Well I am so glad I decided to do a load of laundry yesterday. It started raining sometime early this morning after Mother Nature has teased us with the chance for rain many times lately. So far we have gotten three quarters of an inch. And it looks like we might get a bit more. Its good for all the blooming stuff, not so good for doing laundry.

Feel like I am coming down with something. I don't feel too bad, so I should be able to do the painting in the hallways today.

Charlton Heston has died. Although I do like a couple movies he was in and make it a habit to catch a little bit of the Ten Commandments every year, I didn't really care for him. To me he just gave wooden performances. It was like the same thing in every role, with maybe minor differences.

Arthur C Clarke has also passed away. I am not sure if I mentioned it recently. I read the entire 2001 series and my favorite book is probably Childhoods End. Will have to get my copy of it out and start reading it.

Have a nice day yesterday. We saw two movies, 21 and Leatherheads, did a little shopping and had dinner at Red Lobster. It was a nice but long day. 21 was alright, a little slow at times but alright. Leatherheads was really good. This makes the first time we have seen a movie all years. Hopefully there will be other movies worthy of being seen this year.

Forty years ago, Martin Luther King was killed while in Memphis. His legacy still lives on and he will never be forgotten, but I wonder what the world would be like today if he had only been wounded instead of killed.

Was certain sometime in the past few days we would get rain, but we got nothing really. It misted a little and that was it. Have mixed feelings, as always, about the rain. When we get too much rain in a short period of time is when I really don't care for rain. Although I need to do some laundry tomorrow, I wouldn't mind if we got some rain. Wouldn't want to get too much though.

Mom had Friday off. We really didn't do too much with the weekend. Got some cleaning done, bought some paint for the hallways, put tile down in the bathroom.

Because there hasn't been a movie come out yet that we really had to see yet. But this weekend we are going to have some fun. We will have some lunch (or dinner out, maybe both), see a movie or two, do a little shopping and just have some fun.

Had several short but odd dreams, including one with zombies. I guess I should stop playing Resident Evil 4 then, but I so love the game.

It is going to be another quiet weekend at home. But next weekend we are going to have some fun. We'll see a movie, have a nice meal out and do a little bit of shopping.

Saw a deer in a field when we were coming home from dinner last night. I wasn't sure I saw it but just before I last it due to trees I saw that it was indeed a deer.

Stupid mail person sent a package meant for us to another house two streets away. If the woman who lived there hadn't dropped it off, I don't know if the mystery of what had happened to it would have ever been solved. Bless the soul of the woman who brought it over. She did a good job.

With this past Sunday being Easter, practically everything was shut done. Didn't think about that fact before we played to order a pizza. There were a few places open but not much. That's the one thing about most holidays I hate, everything just shuts done. It sort of forces the lonely, alone, without family or whatever situation someone has to be more alone.

Didn't do much today and probably wont do much tomorrow. Been having trouble sleeping again and odd dreams as well.

Sergei is doing better. I think he was feeling bad but he was milking it to get attention.

Not much been going on lately and hence not much to post about. I am thinking about not blogging anymore, but I don't think I'll go back to a old style journal just yet.

Got some rain yesterday. Think we got about three quarters of an inch. Glad we got some rain, we do need the moisture.

Don't know if I will do laundry this week, but if I do it will be later in the week.

Had to take Sergei to the vet because he wasn't feeling well. Think he may have injured himself playing with Kiska. He got a clean bill of health. The vet we saw gave us some pain pills for him. Hopefully he'll start feeling better soon.

We have some fog outside today. I love fog. Will try and get a photo of it if I can.

Have had some strange dreams the past couple nights. One involved the host of the TV show Pinks and another that same night involved me missing a ride to school and having to walk. I guess I have some underlying anxiety issues at the moment.

Before I did some laundry yesterday, I went out and sat with the dogs. Kiska loved it, Sergei was still a bit sleepy. Looked at Kiska's teeth and the chews we give her are really doing a good job. Good thing she loves those things.

Don't think we are going to do anything this weekend. There is a movie we would like to see, but it doesn't come out for another three weeks.

My allergies have been bothering me a little more then usual lately, which means spring really is on its way. I am ready for warm weather, flowers and color.

I finally got my 2007 eBay journal caught up and now need to start working on this years.

The trash picked a little later then usual today. But I did get everything out that needed to go.

Have a few things to donate to goodwill, not sure when we will get a chance to drop it off.

We went to the laundromat yesterday as it was snowing. Yes I said snowing. The funny thing is the laundromat had the TV tuned to one of the local channels and during a news break the weather forecaster said the snow wasn't likely to melt until today. Well it was already starting to melt off the streets at that point despite it still snowing. It was much easier driving home then it had been driving to the laundromat.

Today we did groceries and went to the gem and mineral show. We bought a couple geodes and Mom bought a necklace for a old piece of jewelry she wanted to start wearing again. I also got a chunk of amethyst. We had lunch out and then came home.

Mom is going to take off Friday and Monday. Which means we might get a little bit more down around the house, do some errands and maybe have a little fun.

Have had some problems sleeping. Not sure why, I have a great bed and everything. Guess I will never fully get rid of the occasional insomnia.

When we took the dogs to the vet recently for their check ups, we bought some dental chews for Kiska. She likes them more then Sergei, who will eat other treats but not raw hide chews. Anyway, her teeth look a little better because of it.

Not much going on. Am tired of winter and ready for spring. The only problem with that is that summer would follow spring and I sometimes dont care for summer.

We finally got the furnace fixed. I know its an old one and all but I don't thing we can afford to replace anytime soon. Hopefully (crosses fingers), we can eek out a bit more time with this one.

The weekend wasn't too bad. We did get out and buy some firewood Saturday so we could have fires over the weekend. I got some virus thing Saturday and I've haven't been feeling so well the past couple days. At first I thought I had the flu, but I don't think so. It could have been something I ate, but not sure.

Went to the dentist appointment which lasted a little longer then expected. And then came back to a cold house. The blower on the furnace went out, the burners still work so we get a tiny bit of heat just because heat rises.

The guy from the third company we called said he couldn't fix it until Monday. So its going to be a long cold weekend.

Mom took yesterday off, so we got a few things done while we had the time.

Wednesday we got to see a bit of the lunar eclipse, then the clouds moved in. But what we did see was great. The next one isn't for another two years.

There is another threat of winter weather for Thursday and Friday. And I dont think anyone is looking forward to it. Sunday I woke up to snow, this is after the rain we got Saturday afternoon. It got warm enough to melt much of the wet snow off. But we had already gone out in the wretched stuff to get things at the store.

I am already sick of the political stuff. Wish it didnt go on nearly as long as it does. None of the canidates are really worth a dime, but I will need to vote for someone. And I dont think I can vote for Peter Griffith or Homer Simpson.

We came tight home after Mom's appointment and the mail hadnt arrived, thankfully. Instead of going out and doing the errands we had, she worked on her taxes. She got the bulk of the work done. All she needs to do is just put it in pen and send it off.

The photos did come in the mail yesterday and they look wonderful. We got enlargements of some of our Paris pics and some prints of things we didnt already have. They all look very nice.

My dentist appointmen, to take care of a couple cavities, is on Saturday. We will do some errnads after we get done.

I am not usually the one to complain to much about winter and the weather we have with it. But I am so sick of winter now. I am not looking forward to summer, but I am tired of dealiwng with the ice, rain, snow and nasty crap. Hope I remember how I feel when the temps are in the nineties. I probably wont, but its the thought that counts.

Mom has a dentist appointment Saturday. We are still waiting for some photos we ordered over the weekend to arrive. I just hope the mail doesnt arrive while we are out and we have to go to the post office to pick them up.

Took the dogs to the vet today. It was its usual fun and games. The vet didnt call us like she said she might if thy dogs heartworm test turned up. So the dogs are healthy and have all the required tests. Dont have to do this whole thing again until next year, thank God.

Havent had a desire to go to a movie yet. Not sure when or if there will be a movie interesting enough to actually make a trip to the theaters worth it.

It got warm enough for me to do a load of laundry. The threat of snow we were supposed to have last night, didnt appear until now. I hope it doesnt amount to much. Dont mind the cold but I am now sick of snow and the threat of snow.

This morning I pre-ordered the movie "Giant Gila Monster" on the Rhino.com site. Also ordered another movie "Orgy Of The Dead", which is a Ed Wood film. Thought for shits and giggles I'd get it. Have American Dad Volume 3 and Mystery Science Theater 3000:The Movie pre-ordered via Amazon.com. Going to have some fun wathcing the dvds when I get them.

Due to some colder weather, I have had to put off doing some laundry. Thankfully I am not backed up.

Saturday wasnt as fun as we would have liked. Dentist appointment went fine, have to go back in a couple weeks to get cavaties filled though. But Mom didnt feel well, so we didnt stay long at the Nelson and the rest of the day sort of feel apart after that.

I have a dentist appointment on Saturday. After the appointment, we are going to have some fun. First ,we will go to the Nelson and then finish up with lunch there. Secondly, a movie (Meet The Spartans is the front runner), then maybe some shopping and lastly dinner. We haven't had much fun lately so this should be a nice change. And we ha vent been to a movie in ages.

It is very cold now, but it looks like the weather will warm up a bit. I wonder how long this warm turn will last. Regardless, the dogs love the snow we still have on the ground and the snow. And a happy snow dog is a great thing.

Had a dream last night that I was traveling with some gal from southern Texas to some place north of me. I don't know how I know her or why I was travelling with her, but I seemed comfortable with her. I do remember being in a restaurant with her and her mentioning that we didn't have a lot of money to spend on breakfast. As we were at the counter we couldn't read the menu very well or figure if they had anything we wanted. We ended up leaving without breakfast. The dream went on for a bit longer but I don't remember anything about it. It seemed to launch into me working in some sort of odd museum zoo combo. I was in a uniform and was in one of the rooms closing the drapes (or whatever they actually were) in each of the enclosures. I was interacting with some of the animals and was frightened by a few. There were lots of people in the room I was in. That's pretty much all I remember.

Managed to do some laundry today. With the cold weather and the snow, I haven't had the opportunity to do much laundry and I need to get caught up. Thankfully we aren't so behind that we need to go to the laundromat. Hope to get a couple more loads done this week.

The family room looks wonderful now. I am glad I pushed to go back and get a darker color. Its closer to the color Mom has always wanted in the living room. We have rearranged some of the things we had on the walls and it looks great. Now we wont have to paint again for some years.

We started painting with the color we had purchased last Saturday and found we didn't much like it. I think Mom got spooked by the gal helping us with the paint and went for a lighter color then she wanted. Going back to the hardware store and going to get a darker shade.

It took Mom over an hour to get home Wednesday, all due to the darned snow. And her cell phone went dead to boot. But the dogs are loving the weather so I guess someone gets something out of this.

We have snow!!! And it's not so nice. Mom has an event that she needs to attend tonight with her boss and a fellow co-worker. Guess it'll take her awhile to get there from work and then home.

Might be painting the family room this weekend. We have been wanting to do this for months. It seems a wee bit odd to do it in the middle of winter, but we're used to being odd.

Did some laundry earlier this afternoon despite not feeling well. I don't think I'm coming down with anything.

What snow we got yesterday no longer exists. The weather has been weird lately. IT bounces from winter to spring and then back again. I didn't mind getting the rain yesterday, as we need it and at least it wasn't freezing rain.

I have a dentist appointment in a couple weeks and I wish I didn't. But maybe I will feel differently then. My teeth are important, but its such a hassle and a drag to get to the office.

We got some rain this morning, followed by snow which pretty much melted as soon as it hit the ground. Although is some areas, it does look like it is sticking. Looks like it's going to snow off and on the rest of the day.

Have nothing planned for the weekend. Will probably just do some cleaning and see if there is anything else we can junk.

New Years Day!

Have no resolutions, because I know I will break them.

Supposed to get down to single digits temperatures tonight as a arctic blast moves in for a few days.

There is still some snow on the ground from the last storm.

The tree is down and out. The ornaments have been put away until they're needed again.

Dogs are loving this weather, but I'm not. Might have a fire tonight and maybe tomorrow.

Finished Splinter Cell Double agent a couple days ago. Am replaying it again to see if I can do a few things different.

Had three strange dreams last night.

One I remember more detail about it then I do the other two. In the first, I was with a group of people in a hotel. We were packing our things up to leave. At some point I mentioned to someone in the dream that we sure did have a lot of things to take back with us and wasn't sure how we could do it. He seemed uncertain about it too. There were three rooms that out stuff was in I remember one of the rooms was "419" and it was down the hall from the other two rooms. That's all I remember about it.

In dream two, it was in black and white. Which is unusual for me, because I almost always dream in color. I do remember there were others involved, but not much more.

The third dream was preview for some movie I had never heard of and have no idea if it is even real. The dream was also in black and white. What I remember is mostly seeing this actor with sort of bushy hair, who was playing an actor in a stage play. At some point he has a light or a lighting effect blow up near him and it causes a part of his makeup to adhere to his face . He is devastated by this and that's all I remember.

Had a nice Christmas. With the weather we've had recently, coupled with the year we've had has left us not really in the Christmas mood. It wasn't a complete downer or anything, we still had a nice day, we just weren't aglow in the festive mood.

We technically had a white Christmas. The snow that had fallen last week was still on the ground, even if the temperature on Tuesday was in the lower fifties. Yesterday it started to snow again. Apparently we got more snow in our area than around the area Mom works. She said it was a little tricky get home, but she made it home safe.

Mom is working late tonight. Because of when Christmas fell, she will have to go in on Monday and run payroll. Hopefully It wont take her to long. To help out a bit, she's working late tonight.

Have been playing Splinter Cell Double Agent and I like it. Because I have played Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory ( particularly this one) a lot, I am finding it fairly easy to get around the game. I ran into a brick wall with one thing and was able to find help online to get me past it. So far I am liking the game.

I am a bit depressed. The weather hitting the area on or near the weekends is putting a damper on the holiday mood. I do want to get out and go to Crown Center tomorrow, even though there is a snow storm ready to bear down on us as I type. Although the thought of going over there and fighting the crowds is unappealing, we have done very little festive type things this holiday season. The one thing I hate about some holidays, is that "everyone" seems like they have plans that involve doing big things and or visiting family. I know not everyone is big on Christmas, but the idea that if you don't have friends or family to party with and you're not spending a fortune on gifts that there is something wrong with you. The whole thing seems thrust upon us, that if you want to be alone or don't care to do it up big you're a loser. It's no wonder a lot of people kill themselves around this time of year.

Besides, I think Santa is a pervert anyway. Think about it! HE sees you when you're awake, he sees you when you're sleeping, he knows if you've been bad or good. What else is he gazing upon? Does he look at you in the shower, or as you're pleasuring yourself or someone else, does he have a lot of elf on elf action up north or something? And just what is Mrs Clause into? The whole thing sounds fishy to me.

The KC football team sucks. And until Carl Peterson leaves, they will continue to suck ass.

The tree we bought Saturday is up and decorated. Will get a photo up sometime soon, maybe.

Last year at this point I was in Paris. Being in Paris trumps everything about a holiday season.

The large order we had with Amazon arrived and I've been looking at a couple of the things. My part of the order included books, DVD's and Splinter Cell Double Agent for my GameCube.

We went out in the winter weather and got a Christmas tree. Its nice, cost almost 40 bucks, but it's nice.

The snow storm didn't amount to too much but at least we got something. If it warms up, it wont last long.

Haven't really been in a holiday mood this year. Such a strange and weird year in many aspects. Hopefully next year will be better.

We have an ice storm working it's magic on the area at the moment. Large chuck of the country is suffering from this icy fun.

The last part of our big Amazon.com order has finally shipped. I am anxiously awaiting it now, there are a couple things I want now but will have to wait.

Two weeks until Christmas. My shopping is done, just need a tree.

We have some snow and a little bit of ice out there. Had to get out in the weather yesterday to do a couple errands. It wasn't too bad. When we got to the grocery store, it turned crazy. All I wanted to do was purchase a couple things. I've never seen the place so packed. Every parking spot was taken and people parked where they should not have just so they could make a purchase. Luck was on my side as everything I was buying could be purchased at the customer service counter. The lines were easily fifteen people deep. Was thankful we had gotten our groceries Friday night.

The new sofa looks wonderful in the living room and goes great with the color scheme. My new bed is wonderful to sleep on and the sheets i have fit it just fine. I sleep under a comforter I had purchased earlier in the year but hadn't had a chance to use.

Had a headache yesterday, but I managed to get rid of it before lunch. The weather change is what caused it and thankfully it wasn't a bad one.

Sometime today will get an automated message from Nebraska Furniture Mart about when out delivery will be made tomorrow. Hopefully, I don't have to wait all day. Need to get a load of laundry done today. Will do it late if I need to, but I hope it doesn't come to that.

Had a long involved dream with me and some people I don't know in an airport. We were all rushing around trying to find gates to connect up with our other flights. As various times, we did slow down a bit and do some shopping and a little talking. But then we became a little frantic in trying to find out where we needed to go. At some point I realised I was already at my home airport, which looks completely different then it did in the dream, and began to leave. That's when the alarms went off and I woke up. I do remember there being a ton of people at the airport.

We bought a nice love seat, dark sage in color, and a mattress for me while we were shopping. I have needed a new mattress for some time. Maybe I will sleep a bit better now. Because it is a pillow top mattress, I wont be able to flip it over. I will just rotate it around, but not flip it. Will need to get in a habit of that.

The rain wasn't to bad Saturday. We left mid-morning, and because the ground still retained some heat, it wasn't too bad out on the streets. After we finished at Nebraska Furniture mart we went to Kmart and purchased a floor lamp and table. The lamp is a nice one, has brushed steel exterior. The table is a tiled top Mission style table and wasn't to bad to put together.

This weekend we are going to go to Nebraska Furniture Mart and buy a new sofa or love seat. Haven't decided which we are going to buy. I'd be happy with a chair.

Looks like we might get some freezing rain tomorrow. And then it will be rather windy once the rain stops.

Have continued to have strange dreams. One part of one that I can remember, is of me with some British ladies in a kitchen making cakes. The odd part of it comes from the fact that in order to make the frosting "stick" to the cake we need to dunk cake with the frosting on it in water. It seemed to make perfect sense in the dream and I didn't bat an eye as were doing it. But in waking life I think it's an odd thing to do.

It is cold out!!! And if it wasn't we need to get out to go to the laundromat and do a couple chores, I'd not go out at all. Well, I guess I would need to feed the dogs, give the dogs more straw to lay in, get the newspaper and mail. But other than that I would get out.

Thanksgiving was nice. But I think Mom wants to much of a big deal for a meal than I do. But since we only make these holiday meals a few times a year, and it does make her happy, I guess I can just deal with it.

Put a few things up on eBay yesterday. Thought I might as well take advantage of the holiday to try some new things.

Very cold today. I don't remember a Thanksgiving this cold. It is supposed to warm up later in the week and over the weekend, but I don't think it's going to get out of the twenties today. Think the low for tonight is supposed to be in the upper teens.

We will be doing some cooking and baking today. Hope we will do a smaller meal for Christmas, because I don't care for all this cooking. Also don't care for all of the dirty dishes.

We got a little bit of rain and a tiny amount of snow today. Mom and I went out on an errand after she got off work. Even though it was rather cold, it wasn't too bad. I was expecting it to be bad and take Mom longer to get home than normal, but it wasn't bad. Had dinner out and then came home to watch a little TV.

Had a strange dream last night involving a landscaping project. Was in a different home and wanted to put in a reflecting pool. I knew that this would make one of our neighbors mad. Once it was done she wasn't happy, because it all looked so beautiful. Saw two dogs in my dream, both had passed years ago, so it was strange to see them.

The up and down weather roller coaster is continuing with higher then normal temps for the next couple days and then more normal temps for later in the week.

Had a nice Thanksgiving at home planned. Also have some things for the weekend planned.

Haven't had much to post about. Everything is going well.

Not sure what we are going to do this weekend. Also don't know what we are going to do for Thanksgiving.

We only had two kids come to the door on Halloween. There were two others that passed us by and that was pretty much it for kids out and about this year. I don't know if walking around the neighborhood has fallen out of favor or not but it looks like it. Maybe the focus is more on parties and walking around the mall or some other safe place. I remember when I was younger and went out on Halloween, we didn't have a car following us with a parent protecting us. We went in groups and wandered far and wide. When I was old enough to do it by myself, I went all over. Its not to say that it was safer then, weird people have always been around, but I guess it was a different time. People must feel the need to over protect their kids, waste gas driving their large ass vehicles around while they watch their lazy ass kids go to certain houses and never trudge up stairs (God forbid) to get a treat. Maybe we outta just flat out ban Halloween.

The Boston Red Sox won yet another world series. Would have preferred Cleveland to have gone to the series and either them or the Colorado Rockies to have won. Would have made a more interesting series.

Been having strange dreams again. The one I had last night involved super heroes. At some point I was walking along a foot bridge that was over this lake and saw three people in their costumes/outfits flying low over the lake and getting the fog cleared out. That showed no awareness that I was in the area what so ever. At the point that I finally got to the other side, I nabbed a gal and took off with her. It was only then that they seemed to care that I was alive. I took off and they gave chase. The woman disappeared, but they still chased me into this weird area where there were lots of people and a small pond. I ended up crawling on to the rocks surrounding the pond and then slip into the pond undetected by the super heroes and then the dream ends.

Robert Goulet has passed away. Although I have been aware of him for years, I haven't seen much of his work. But, I do enjoy the Emerald nuts commercial with him.

The chiefs had a bye week, so they at least had a chance to rest and not embarrass themselves again.

The trees aren't showing much color this year, and I bet the spring weather had a lot to do with it. But I am very happy that I did get a few pictures, because the leaves have dropped on a couple trees and I wouldn't have been happy if I had waited.

I have officially given up on NCIS. Cant stand a couple of the characters, so adios show.

In the past week: the chiefs won, we got half of an inch in rain and the cool weather continued. The days have been cool and loverly (I don't care if people claim that isn't a word). Looks like we might get some rain today.

Have some errands to run this weekend, so it's going to be a little busy. Hopefully, I can do some culling out of a few things today, so when we donate some stuff to Goodwill this weekend we have a little more to give.

Had a weather related headache yesterday that didn't break until I took a hot shower. Some times that works, some times it helps and then there are times I'm just wasting water when trying to get rid of a headache. But I felt so drained from fighting the headache I didn't do a couple things I needed to do. So today I will do those things.

Last night it rained briefly. It really looked like it could have just opened up and poured, but it didn't.

Deborah Kerr and rat packer Joey Bishop have both passed away. Was never a Bishop fan, in fact I've often wondered who the hell found him funny. Where as with Miss Kerr, I did enjoy a few of her movies and shared a birthday (born different years of course).

We got two and a half inches of rain yesterday. A bit of water in the basement, so its a good thing we were planning on going to the Laundromat Saturday anyway.

Have a headache due to the weather. Hopefully it wont completely ruin the day.

We are getting some rain, they have had flash flood watches and warnings in effect since last night for a large chuck of the surrounding area. We need the rain, we are still five inches behind what we should have at this point for the year. The tulip and daffodil bulbs I planted Monday will love this rain.

The Colorado Rockies are going to their first ever world series. It looks like the Cleveland Indians are going as well. They need just one more win, over the Boston Red Sox no less, to go. The Red Sox were in the series a couple years ago and won, for the first time in 80 plus years. So I wont feel too bad if they don't go to the series this year.

We got one and a half inches of rain yesterday. For awhile it seemed the rain would never stop. Looks like we have a chance for some more rain this week. Like I've said many times, we don't get rain when we need it but get too much at once. We seem to be in the latter of that statement now.

Am feeling better than I did last week. Still have waves of nausea when thinking about a certain brand of yogurt for whatever reason.

Purchased some flower bulbs at Lowe's yesterday, will plant them tomorrow or Tuesday. We got Tulips, Daffodils, Crocus and a couple other flowers to replace things that got killed off in the spring freeze.

Happy the Cheifs won today.

I feel better, yesterday I had a migraine that made me feel worse than I already did.

We are getting some rain today, it started earlier this morning. Because it is a slow rain, we aren't having any flash flooding. But it looks like the rain might be around for a few days.

Had a dream last night that involved shopping for Halloween stuff. I went to some store and they had some massive area set aside just for Halloween things. Wondered around for a bit and couldn't decide what to get because so many things looked great.

Have a touch of the flu, haven't been able to eat much because I am have trouble with nausea.

Mom has tomorrow of, don't think we are going to do anything special.

Rain is forecast for the weekend. We could use it, too.

Got a little rain, about a half inches worth the other day.

Will be doing some laundry this afternoon. Don't feel well, may be coming down with something.

Last night I dreamt I was an some sort of an event. I could not make out where I was. There were a lot of people at the event. Was very happy to see Rich and Kail Christensen were there and I was left speechless. Rich if the host of Pinks and Pinks:All out, both shows I watch and love. At some point, both men left and I was disappointed. Wanted so much to do a little more in depth talking about their shows and everything. I wondered around a little more and then the dream ended.

I watched the finale of Top Chef last night and I am still pissed off. Hung won and is a shame such an asshole won, he's a bigger asshole then the winner of last season. If I knew he was cooking at a restaurant, I would avoid the restaurant and get up and leave if I had just found out once I was already there. Bravo, Padma, Tom and Gail can kiss the fattest part of my shiny metal ass. I will never again watch Top Chef simply because the whole show is a fucking sham. They pretty much knew who they were gonna give it too, IMO, from probably day one. So long TC, the ride wasn't that great and I'd ask for the time I spent on this shit back, but I know I'd just waste someplace else.

Okay, I feel better.

We got a quarter of an inch worth of rain on Sunday. It came in a brief, but lovely, storm. Some rain is forecast for today and a couple other days this week. I am not complaining, because we need it all. Of course, it could very easily come too much at once too.

It was a nice day. Was a little warm but it rained this afternoon and it cooled things off a little.

Went to the Nelson-Atkins for a couple hours. We went into the new section that opened back in June, had some lunch then went through one of our favorite areas. After that we came home for a few hours, I watched some football and played online. Early evening we went out to dinner. I took some pictures of some clouds, they were heading out to deliver some rain to some other place.

Overall, it was a good day.

Have had a couple headaches this week, both have been mild.

Am hoping it starts to cool off soon and begin to feel more like fall.

Will do some chores on Saturday and then on Sunday will have some fun. The 30Th is my birthday. As always its going to be a low key affair.

French Mime Marcel Marceau has died. I had heard of him, known about him since I was a child. Don't understand the allure of mimes, or clowns for that matter. Mimes are a step above clowns and both rank pretty low on the entertainment ladder to me.

We are getting some rain today. It may not amount to much, but we need it so badly that any amount is welcome.

Allergies are beginning to bother me more, and will continue to do so now that we are officially in fall.

My birthday is Sunday, and I am uncertain as to what to do still. I think we will go to the Nelson Atkins Museum, look around the new wing and have some lunch. May not do anything more than that before having a nice dinner out some place.

We got a small amount of blessed rain this week. Though it wasn't much, I am happy we got something.

Shortly after I was notified by Amazon.com that my Best of Designing Women" DVD had been shipped, I found out that Alice Ghostley had passed away. She played Bernice on the show.

Brett Somers has also passed away. Just loved her on "Match Game", even if the show sucked loved the banter her and Charles Nelson Reilly had.

The chiefs suck and will always suck, at least until Carl Peterson is removed from his job.

The weekend was wonderful, it was cool with lower then normal temperatures and we felt like we were alive again. Of course I had two headaches last week leading up to the weekend and Mom had a headache Sunday afternoon leading up to the warmer temperatures we have now.

Cant think of anything fun I would like to do on my birthday. Of course, what I really want to do is nothing, zip, zilch, nada. But Mom feels we have to do something on our birthdays and so I am trying to think of something to do.

The weather has been weird everywhere. Hot where it usually isn't that hot, earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, dry spells etc.

Have several things weighing on my mind that I wont go into. But need some time to give each of the things some serious thought.

Cats are doing fine, the dogs are doing well. Everybody's great, crazy but great.

Need to do some chores, laundry and yard work this week. Don't know how much of any of it will get done, but oh well.

I would very much like to thank Mother Nature for the one and a quarter inches of rain we got early this morning. Was so sure rain would pass us by, but we got a wonderful thunderstorm. The cool air was as welcome and refreshing as the rain. Looks like we have a chance or two in the next few days for some more rain with the cooler temperatures.

Happy the weekend is here and in a good mood. Need to get some things done this weekend, mostly cleaning and culling.

The strange dreams continue. Dreamt that my dad and I were traveling together. At some point we stopped for some food and it wasn't very good food. He didn't seem to understand that I don't eat red meat or pork anymore and insisted that I eat some nasty looking burger. We ended up in a hotel and for some reason (for whatever reason, but it is a dream and I don't think it's supposed to make sense) there were only a few of my cats with us. As we were leaving I was allowed to take one of my cats. I picked Ashley ( our male Himmy-Tab mix) and put him in a carrier. We continued our trip and ended up at a run down house where Ashley got loose and ran away. There are some other odds and ends to the dream but that's the largest chunk I remember.

We did a little bit of shopping today and had lunch at a nice place. Spent the afternoon watching college football and napping. Haven't sleeping well (what a shock).

Went to Burlington Kansas today to so some genealogy stuff. We took some photos and drove around to spots we had been before. Fun day but tiring.

Been having strange dreams again. Of course nothing about me or what I do is normal, but still. The other night I dreamt I had surgery and was able to walk again, the problem was that I was left with a deformed rear end. I thought I was worse off with the deformity then the fact that I could walk again. Don't remember what I dreamt last night, just know at some point I knew it was strange.

Got a pittance of rain yesterday. Honestly, I don't know know why Mother Nature even bothered. Other areas are getting rain, and even flooding, yet we cant seem to get more then just a teeny amount when it does rain. Cooler temperatures would also be helpful. Been walking around like a zombie because I cant sleep in the heat.

Haven't slept well lately, mostly due to the heat.

But I have been having strange dreams. One I had last night involved me traveling by plane. There was a long segment with me being in an airport. I don't know if I was flying for business or pleasure, but I had a sense that I was running from something.

Got a little bit of rain last night. It was nice, but wish it has lasted longer.

Had planned to do things this past week, but the time was off for a couple of things and everything else fell apart because of it.

The brutal heat wave should be over soon. Maybe we can get some much needed rain.

Haven't done any more then Ive needed to because I just don't have the energy for it.

I would like to thank Madame Mother Nature for the inch of rain we got last night. I was in the shower and thought I heard thunder. Didn't hear anything as I was drying off. It wasn't until I got in bed that I saw lightning and heard rain. It could the area down and gave us some rain, but we are still are in a heat advisory for the next few days. It's tough having this crap stalled over us.

Saw the Simpson's movie Monday night. It was better than I expected it was going to be. We were the first people in the theater and before the movie started, about eight other people showed up.

Extreme heat for the next week. Upper nineties and maybe even into the hundreds for a day or two. Still no rain and no chance of it for the coming future. Will come up with some things to occupy my time in the afternoon, cant do the things i would like or need to do because I don't want to get heat stroke.

Looks like it is gone to be very hot for the next week or so. July wasn't that bad, but it looks like August is going to make up for it. So far we ha vent had any measurable rain since the fourth of July.

Might go to a movie tonight. Don't know what we will do about dinner, but that's not important. Before we go to a movie , we have one errand we need to take care of.

Saw the movie "The Bourne Ultimatum" and it was really good. Had seen the previous two movies and wanted to see this. After we got out of the movie, we went to dinner. Mom's choice for her birthday dinner was Red Lobster, where we had a wait but it was worth it.

Broadcasting great Tom Snyder, Coaching legend Bill Walsh and Film great Ingmar Bergman have all died.

Got the car worked on yesterday. Tried two weeks ago to get the stuff done, but every place seemed very busy. But things worked in our favor yesterday and we got the stuff taken care of. Will get a tune up sometime in fall.

Rain has eluded us this week, several times. When it has rained, it has been for only a few minutes and that's it. We really need a nice gentle rain to clear out some of the nasty air and water everything. Hopefully Mother Nature will look kindly upon us and give us a bit of rain.

Short work week for Mom. Her birthday is Saturday and she has requested Friday off, so she'll only have four long work days this week.

Kiska is now two years old. I can only hope as she gets older she calms down, but I doubt it will happen.

Slept with the dental guard in and it wasn't too bad. Guess I will get used to it.

Was going to go to a movie last week, but just really didn't feel like wasting money on something I wasn't to interested in to begin with. When Mom's birthday comes around we do plan on seeing a couple movies that weekend.

Tammy Faye Bakker died over the weekend. I don't have anything against her, not saying she was Innocent in the whole PTL scandal but regardless its sad she died of cancer.

Not sure I mentioned that Lady Bird Johnson passed away recently.

Got my teeth cleaned and a routine dental exam. Found that three teeth show signs of me grinding my teeth. After the appointment, went to lunch and then did some shopping. One of the things purchased was a dental guard to wear during sleeping hours. I don't know how or if it will work but will give it a try.

Have a dentist appointment on Saturday. Don't know if we are going to do anything after our appointments.

Have a couple things to do today and then will have the rest of the afternoon off.

I know I have been dreaming, and the dreams have been strange, but once I wake up I cant remember anything. Had a dream this morning that involved me being at the grocery store and being anxious over the total of the groceries.

Sergei's ears are looking better so we are now just giving him some allergy medication and doing a volume ear flush once a week.

Managed to get a few things done today. Need to get in gear and do more things every morning.

Started getting the first quilting lesson materials put together. I am not sure how good I will be at this, but I couldn't be any worse then I am at other things.

Lady Bird Johnson has died. For some reason I thought she had died a couple years ago.

The heat of summer has arrived. It hasn't been too bad so far, but since July is a tough summer month, who knows what Mother Nature has in store for us.

Have some cleaning to do before I get out and mow the backyard, will have to get out and mow the front yard next week some time, probably Monday.

Don't know whats causing it, but I have been having trouble sleeping lately. I hope its just a phase and it'll pass.

Well it started out looking like it would be a hot fourth and then a storm came up this afternoon and dumped three quarters of an inch of rain on us. It did cool things off a bit and it will make shooting off fireworks a little nicer.

Wanted to mow in the backyard this afternoon, this was before the storm, but couldn't get the mower started.

Mom will have some time off, sort of a mini vacation. We have some things planned, but I don't know how much we will actually get done.

Took Sergei to the vets office this morning. He is having problems with his ears again. We got the go ahead to give him some over the counter allergy medication.

Since Tuesday afternoon, it has rained every day. Thankfully it has just been a very nice slow soaking rain. Up until today, we had received about an inch of rain. Cant do laundry at home this weekend and it might not be until next week some time that I feel comfortable doing any laundry.

Have a mild headache today. Will lay down and maybe nap this afternoon.

Ordered American Dad Volume 2 last week and got it on Monday. I missed several episodes for one reason or another, so I am enjoying the set. Sometime in the next day or two, MST3K volume 11 will ship and I will love watching those movies, three of which I have never seen.

The rain we had amounted to three quarters of an inch. There is a chance or two of rain this week and that's it. Doubt we will get it, but you never know.

Have gone back to knitting. I am not very got at crocheting and even worse at knitting, but the stuff never looks horrible or anything once I am done. Just have strange working techniques.

The Ohio woman who was missing, Jessie Davis, has been found dead. May she rest in peace. I hope the throw several books at her killer.

Moms visit to the dentist was quick. Of course there is so much construction going on in the Kansas City, Mo area it was a nightmare trying to get home. There seems to be no real plan to how, why or when they do things. Hopefully it will get done soon.

Got a little bit of rain yesterday. Needed to do some mowing but waited too long, so will have to wait until Wednesday to mow. Will probably do laundry tomorrow as well. As predicted we have some fog this morning. I like fog.

I have felt drained the past few days and not sure why. Don't think I am coming down with anything.

We have had fairly nice weather lately, but now we are getting into the nice summer heat. Will have to get into the habit of taking care of things before I get online and what not. Hopefully we wont have some of the nasty heat we had last year.

Forgot to mention that over this past weekend, as Mom and I were on our way home from an errand, we saw a couple of military helicopters flying low. It was a surreal sight. We saw them just briefly and never were in a good position to see them again. No mention, not surprisingly, of them in the news.

Mr Wizard past away a couple days ago. I loved watching his show, sure it was a little goofy, but it was fun to watch.
